Two SPE Decorating and Coatings Division board members were recognized for their commitment and service to the industry. Bill Morey and Ralph Starkey received the Lifetime Achievement Award during a special ceremony at the 2022 SPE Decorating and Coatings Division TopCon and IMDA Symposium held in September in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
Morey and Starkey were honored for their long-standing dedication to the growth and advancement of the plastics decorating industry; for their significant commitment of time and energy to the SPE Decorating & Coatings Division board of directors; and for their strong belief in creating new opportunities in secondary plastics processes through knowledge sharing and relationship building.
Starkey, with Starkey and Associates, has 50 years’ experience in the plastics industry. He’s been a continuous member of SPE since 1974 and has served locally in sections and nationally in the Decorating and Coatings Division. He was elected to the board of this division in 1988 where he served as chairman for multiple terms.
Morey has worked at Schwerdtle for 56 years. He continues to serve on the board of directors of the SPE Decorating and Coatings Division and was elected treasurer in 2000, a position he currently holds. In 2013, Morey was recognized for his lifetime of service to the industry with the SPE Honored Service Member Award.
