Topeka, Kansas – The In-Mold Decorating Association (IMDA) is now accepting entries for its annual IMDA Awards Competition. Early bird entries are accepted until June 30, 2023, with the final deadline for submission set for July 21, 2023.
The 2023 IMDA Awards Competition will recognize outstanding in-mold labeled packaging, in-mold decorated durable products and in-mold electronics submissions that were produced in 2022 or are slated for release in 2023.
“The IMDA Awards Competition is an amazing opportunity for companies to go up against the best in the industry from around the world and receive recognition for the hard work they do each year,” said Dianna Brodine, managing director of IMDA. “And, award winners are heavily promoted in industry-leading magazines and at industry events like PACK EXPO Las Vegas and NPE2024, bringing our winners to the attention of brand owners and OEMS who want to work with the best.”
Judges assess each product by overall design and complexity; integration of the in-mold element into the part or package; functionality; and innovation in the use of materials and processes. Manufacturing difficulty and complexity of the part, label, design, or mold also are considered. This competition is open to companies involved in any form of in-mold labeled packaging (IML), in-mold decorated durable products (IMD) and in-mold electronics (IME). While the focus of this competition is on the best in-mold design and technical achievement, IMDA continues to recognize and value items related to sustainability.
Winners of this year’s competition will be announced at the Plastic Product Decorating Summit, scheduled for September 28-29, 2023, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (www.productdecoratingevent.com).
The 2023 IMDA Awards Competition is sponsored by these leaders in in-mold technologies: Innovia, InkWorks Printing, KURZ, StackTeck, Sussex IM and Wipfli.
