In-Mold Decorating Association (IMDA) Under New Management
Ron and Myra Schultz to Retire
The board of directors of the In-Mold Decorating Association (IMDA) has appointed Peterson Publications, Inc. as its managing partner.
Jeff Peterson will serve as executive director, and Dianna Brodine will serve as managing director. Ron Schultz, previous executive director, has retired.
“Ron Schultz has been a vital part of the In-Mold Decorating Association since its inception,” said Bob Travis, president of InkWorks Printing, LLC, and president of the IMDA Board of Directors. “Together with his wife, Myra, Ron has established the association as a leading educational source for the molders, printers, material suppliers and equipment manufacturers that compose the in-mold decorating and labeling production chain.
“He will be greatly missed, but his retirement is well deserved,” Travis continued.
Peterson Publications will utilize its experience in association management and in the plastics decorating industry (as publishers of Plastics Decorating magazine) to continue the IMDA’s educational programs (including the ABCs of IML and the IMDA Symposium), support the membership through new benefit programs and expand upon the awareness of in-mold decorating and labeling throughout the global packaging and durable goods markets.
Peterson said, “In-mold decorating has an important growth opportunity in North America, and we are excited to lead the association’s members in expanding awareness of the technology while supporting their businesses, especially as the industry recovers from the pandemic.”

IMDA, through a shipping program with PartnerShip, now is offering its members new discounts on FedEx packages. IMDA members now can save 45% on select FedEx Express® services (overnight and second-day services) and 25% on select FedEx Ground® and Home Delivery® services. There also are discounts with UPS Freight, YRC and others for LTL freight.
Grainger Discounts on MRO Supplies
In partnership with IMDA, Grainger – the leading business-to-business distributor of maintenance, repair and operating (MRO) supplies – is offering purchasing discounts to the association membership. IMDA members receive aggressive discounting on 13 major categories, factory-direct pricing on many commonly used items and a standard 5% off on all other items. In addition, each member facility receives free standard shipping on all purchases (some restrictions may apply). IMDA Welcomes New Member
Marabu North America LP has recently joined the IMDA. Marabu North America is located in Charleston, South Carolina, in a 12,000 sq. ft. facility that includes a laboratory, testing and manufacturing to support its North American customer base.
Marabu’s core products include liquid laminates (clear coatings) and inks for large and grand format digital printing, as well as screen and pad printing inks.
