Busy Fall Ahead for Label and Packaging Companies
September, October and early November will keep label, decorating and packaging companies on the road with several conference and tradeshow events. After an incredibly busy NPE2024, the IMDA is looking forward to sharing more information about how in-mold labeling and in-mold decorating meet OEM and consumer requirements for sustainability and recyclability. Find the IMDA – and many of our IMDA members – at the following events this fall:
Plastic Product Decorating Summit: The IMDA’s annual technical and market-focused conference returns to the Milwaukee area in September. We’ll kick off with an optional evening at a Milwaukee Brewers baseball game, spend a day hearing from industry experts in in-mold and direct-to-object decorating technologies, and tour two IMDA member companies – InkWorks Printing and PolyFab LLC. Don’t miss out! Registration is open now at www.productdecoratingevent.com and you can learn more about the schedule, Supplier Trade Fair opportunities and hotel registration on pages __ of this magazine.
Labelexpo Americas: Join IMDA in Chicago for the Americas edition of the label and packaging event, drawing printers and converters of labels, flexible packaging and folding cartons; brand owners; label and packaging designers and industry suppliers. See the list of IMDA member exhibitors below.
PACK EXPO International: In November, the packaging industry returns to Chicago for four days (November 3-6). Attendees will get insight on new packaging and processing technologies and their applications, industry forecasts, best practices, case studies on common issues and much more.
When IMDA exhibits at these events, our purpose is to promote our members as the experts in IML, IMD and IME. Every time a brand owner, OEM or molder stops at our tradeshow booth, calls our office or visits our website with questions, we point to our members for the answers. Take advantage of the power of membership today – find the membership application at www.imdassociation.com.
New White Paper Asserts Recyclability of In-Mold Technologies
The IMDA has released a new white paper that asserts in-mold technologies used for the labeling and decoration of plastic products are a sustainable, recyclable alternative to other types of labels or decoration. The proliferation of single-use plastic containers and plastic waste, concerns about climate change and the rising interest in a circular economy are prompting consumers and regulators to look for ways to reduce the environmental impact of plastic packaging and products. The new white paper describes how in-mold technologies for labeling and decorating yield recyclable and sustainable plastic packaging for a variety of markets and applications. Topics include an overview of in-mold labeling advantages in recycling; a discussion of in-mold technology’s sustainability factors in production environments; design guidance for recyclability and a case study featuring a packaging application.
IMDA members and packaging brand owners can receive the white paper at no cost. Others interested in receiving the white paper can email [email protected]. n
