Hi, all! Can you believe it’s already February? We’ve had a busy start to the year, and I hope all of you have, too.
As I was driving into the office this morning, I was thinking about how often I interact with products that are decorated by readers of the magazine. For instance, this weekend I’m headed to Omaha, Nebraska for a three-day volleyball tournament with my youngest daughter. As each team checks in, they’ll receive silicone bracelets that serve as their admission tickets on each day of the tourney. There are 450 teams from around the US at this event – each team has 8 to 10 girls, plus 1 to 3 coaches – so about 5,000 of those bracelets will be on site with the name and date of the tourney pad printed on them.
Then, because it’s not a fun weekend unless your parents spend a lot of money, the event store will have water bottles, T-shirts, phone cases, pop sockets – everything a teenage girl could want. And, many of those items will have been pad printed or screen printed by someone connected to our industry.
In this issue of the ENews, you’ll get a preview of the latest issue of Plastics Decorating, which will be arriving on your desk any day now. We have an article on pad printing for medical devices from Florida-based Pad Printing Technology. This issue of the magazine also contains our annual Buyers Guide. This is a great resource throughout the year as you’re looking for equipment, consumables or services related to the plastics decorating and assembly industry. A link to the digital edition of Plastics Decorating is included in today’s email, so click on through and find what you need.
That’s it for me today. It’s a cold and snowy day at our offices, so I hope it’s warmer where you are. Have a great week, everyone!
