Myron Petruch has been appointed president and CEO of Sun Chemical in Parsippany, New Jersey. Paul Cooper will lead Luminescence, the Security Division of Sun Chemical, based in Wexham Springs, United Kingdom.

Sun Chemical, Parsippany, New Jersey, has appointed Myron Petruch as its president and chief executive officer, effective Jan. 1, 2019.

Petruch assumes leadership of Sun Chemical after serving as president of Sun Chemical Performance Pigments and general manager of the Pigments Products Division since 2008. He succeeds Rudi Lenz, who will transition to the new role of vice chairman of the board at Sun Chemical. The Performance Pigments division has had eight consecutive years of record sales under Petruch’s leadership.

Additionally, he has secured eight bolt-on global acquisitions, which have proven to be solid additions to the division.

In other news, Sun Chemical’s Security Division, Wexham Springs, United Kingdom, will operate under the brand name of Luminescence, manufacturer of security and brand protection inks that Sun Chemical acquired earlier this year.

Suppliers of the latest in security ink technological developments to governments and security printers in over 100 countries, Luminescence manufactures security inks suitable for offset, intaglio, flexo, gravure, screen, numbering and inkjet processes and security threads.

Luminescence will remain a standalone business, guaranteeing the confidentiality and strict protocols followed in the security inks business. This will be led by Paul Cooper, who has more than 30 years of experience in the security market.

Specializing in customized, ink-based solutions for banknotes, tax stamps and secure documents, such as passports and ID cards, the new business offers customers a combination of technology, production and R&D capabilities, global reach and financial stability.
