TopCon Wraps After a Successful Two Days

The 2019 SPE Decorating & Assembly Division Topical Conference (TopCon) and IMDA Symposium – which took place June 3-4 at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs in Franklin, Tennessee – concluded after two days of lively discussions, workshops and networking events. The event brought in more than 120 attendees and 28 tabletop exhibits.

The joint conference boasted an impressive selection of presentations in all fields of plastics decorating, assembly and in-mold decorating/labeling. In addition to paper presentations, this year saw the return of the popular workshop-style discussions, where smaller groups were able to focus on various topics. Facilitated by industry experts, the workshops allowed attendees to ask questions, share experiences and connect with fellow attendees in a more intimate setting.

Jeff Peterson, SPE chairman, said, “The experiences our attendees have at TopCon can’t be recreated in spaces like webinars or websites. The opportunity for those in-person, face-to-face discussions is what makes events like TopCon irreplaceable.”

In between presentations and workshops and during an extended lunch, attendees were able to network with leading suppliers to the industry at the Supplier Trade Fair. Featuring tabletop exhibits, the Trade Fair was an excellent opportunity for networking and socializing.

“This year’s TopCon was a great event,” said SPE Chair Jeff Peterson. “Between the Supplier Trade Fair and the interactive workshops, there was such exciting conversations and sharing of knowledge that just doesn’t happen outside of events like these. The experiences our attendees have at TopCon can’t be recreated in spaces like webinars or websites. The opportunity for those in-person, face-to-face discussions is what makes events like TopCon irreplaceable.”
