Slide Products, Wheeling, Illinois, a leading manufacturer of injection mold release agents and maintenance solutions, has completed a comprehensive revamp of its headquarters. The renovation kicked off with the installation of a 10,000-gallon raw material storage tank, subsequently increasing capacity to support growing production needs. Phase two followed shortly after, with a 45% expansion in warehouse space, finalized in September 2024. In addition to added square footage, an investment was made in high-efficiency lighting, upgraded furnaces and improved shelving/organizational systems to better help support customers and distributors alike.
In final phases, Slide shifted focus to the interior for creating a modern, collaborative and ergonomic work environment. Gutted down to the studs, an open format space was designed to offer for more usability and staff comfort. This updated layout features energy-saving lighting and furnaces, including raised ceilings, new windows and doors. A large, fully functional break room and contemporary conference room were set up to augment team engagement and future growth.
As of early May of 2025, the warehouse marked its project completion, with just a few small finishing touches remaining.
We spoke with Michael Muth, Chief Strategist at Slide Products, who expressed his excitement:
“We hadn’t done any major renovations here since the early 2000s, but these steps were taken under the principle of moving forward. This next phase will enable higher-level support for the business as well as the facility and our people. Everything included in the new design is energy efficient – for instance, if someone is not in a room for more than three minutes, the lights automatically go off. Everything was done to set us up to be more efficient and productive for both our team and customers.
