Process Highlight: Hot Stamping Foils/Heat Transfers

CDigital

CDigital, based in Baltimore, Maryland, uses its Fusion Transfer technology to put full-color design decorations on products in a single pass, for the cost of printing one color. The approach takes heat transfers further by allowing every Fusion Transfer to be engineered to the specific job. Nine proprietary film types and 37 custom adhesives, developed over 25 years of chemistry-driven innovation, ensure each transfer is matched precisely to its substrate for a seamless, no-label look that passes both tape and scratch tests. All production takes place in the United States, and most orders ship within two business days.

The MF Series foils are a flat matte foil that can be used on a wide number of plastic decorating applications, including stamping on pens, producing details on flat plastic parts and wire marking. These foils are developed for high-speed marking and feature easy release along with good abrasion and tape adhesion resistance. MF Series foils can be applied inline, onto extruded plastic parts and moldings and are specially formulated for vertical stamping and fine line decoration.

Infinity® Foils, Inc. provides a range of foil grades formulated specifically for plastic substrates. Whether the application calls for metallic, holographic or pigment finishes, each grade is formulated to deliver optimal performance across a variety of plastic types. MRG is the go-to choice for metallic foil, prized for its exceptional versatility across most plastic types. Its robust adhesion and abrasion resistance also can make it particularly well-suited for challenging stamping jobs, and it performs reliably on images requiring fine to medium detail. Purpose-built for holographic foils, HRG is formulated exclusively for holographic applications and delivers performance characteristics comparable to MRG – making the transition from metallic to holographic foils seamless for plastic decorators. HRG is a trusted choice for cosmetic and general plastic applications where consistent, high-quality results are essential. PGZ brings the coveted aesthetic of pigment foils to plastic decorating with a distinctive semi-gloss appearance. Its release property supports clean, precise results across medium to fine detail coverage, while excellent adhesion and abrasion resistance ensure long-lasting durability.
